Dataminer GMatrixGames recently shared series of social media images, showing for the first time what Unreal’s editor for Fortnite has in store for content creators. Epic Games Studio originally planned to launch the program back in December, but ended up delaying the release to January, and then postponed the release again.

GMatrixGames went into detail about the features and showed a news feed, guides and of course a content library containing a collection from SketchFab, a company that was acquired by Epic Games in July 2021. “When you first open the editor, you will be greeted with a feed similar to the one found in Fortnite itself,” GMatrixGames noted on Twitter. “Then the Content Browser appears. Islands with the “Upload Island” icon will need to be downloaded and converted in Unreal Editor to create Fortnite islands. After that, it can only be edited in the Unreal Editor for Fortnite.”

The content library will apparently include everything from animals and electronics to weapons and consumables. “There are also many templates you can use, many of them include the ‘Verse’ code as an example,” the dataminer noted. “Battle Royale Island is not editable or even loading here, just a spawn platform where you can place items.”
