Fortnite servers are going down today, February 28th, on all platforms (PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Android). The maintenance work will be used to load the 23.50 update onto the servers.
What’s happening in Fortnite today? Epic Games shuts down the servers for Season 1 Chapter 4 one last time. The update will include more content for the completion of the first season and possibly even new collaborations. So be curious and stay tuned, because we keep an eye on the servers for you and provide you with news.

What new content does the update bring?
Secret Code Missions – New Rewards: Epic Games released a new event after update 23.50 that allows players to earn 5 new items for free.
To earn the items, you have to solve puzzles on the map that appear every day. After completing a certain number of puzzles, you will receive rewards for the milestones you have reached:
- 3 Encrypted Secret Code Missions: Circuit Board Finish
- 7 Unencrypted Secret Code Contracts: Keep the Peace Spray
- 15 Unencrypted Secret Code Orders: Big Order Loading Screen
- 24 Unencrypted Secret Code Quests: Decrypted Emoticon
If you complete a certain number of contracts, you’ll even get the Faraway Roar spay for your locker.
Two weapons from the vault: Epic Games grabbed two old weapons from the vault for the last week before the Season 2 release.
- The Infantry Rifle
- The gun
You can find the weapons in crates, on the ground, or in supply drops.
Other updates:
- Oathbound Chest spawn rate increased from 70% to 100%.
- Players now have an increased chance of receiving the Arc Legend reality expansion.
- In V.23.50, reality enhancements that you haven’t unlocked yet will have an increased chance of being unlocked.
Important bug fixes:
- Fixed an issue where we temporarily disabled the Shield Rupture reality augmentation. This reality augmentation is now enabled again.
Fortnite: Server Down – When and how long are they offline?
This is the downtime in the morning: According to Epic Games, the servers are expected to be shut down at 9:00 a.m. German time to install a hotfix. Matchmaking is already disabled 30 minutes beforehand, so you won’t be able to search for new rounds after 8:30 a.m.
When can you play again? This is a relatively large update. It is therefore likely that Epic Games could restart the servers at 11:00 a.m. or at 12:00 p.m. But that is not confirmed.

What content could come with update 23.50?
Epic Games reveals little to no new information about upcoming content before a new update. Trusted leakers like Shiina have been keeping an eye on the data that’s been hidden for a long time and know roughly what players can expect. This time you can expect the following content:
However, there is no guarantee that this content is actually in the update. Should there be any issues, Epic Games could scrap some of it and only release select content. However, this has rarely happened in the past.
