What were those weapons? The weapons affected are the Overclocked Pulse Rifle and the Mythic Havoc Pump Shotgun. Both guns were absurdly powerful, capable of crushing even the most talented player in a matter of moments.
While many players complained about it on social media, Epic Games managed to limit the damage with its latest patch – but only weeks after they were allowed to rage.

Players had fun with the broken weapons for weeks
How broken were the guns? Both weapons were absurdly broken. To show you how, a Reddit user shared a clip showing just how powerful the Overclocked Pulse Rifle was.
The broken thing about the weapon was its secondary fire mode, which activated when firing from the hip. This increases its rate of fire and aiming ability, hitting any target with deadly precision and effortless like an aimbot. Every fight against such a specimen ended in a brutal defeat for the other side.
Paired with the mythical Havoc Pumpgun, nothing could stop you, as the Pumpgun could knock any opponent down with a well-aimed headshot. Both weapons thus enjoyed a spot in many winners’ inventories, but that’s all about to change with the latest patch.
What did the patch change? The latest patch put both weapons in their place in Fortnite. The following has changed:
- The Mythic Havoc Pump Gun’s maximum headshot damage has been reduced.
- Decreased the accuracy and rate of fire when shooting without aiming the Mythic Overclocked Pulse Rifle.
