A week ago, Epic Games closed the biggest Twitch streamer Fortnite, Cody “Clix” Conrod, banned from online shooter. The 18-year-old says he just can’t handle it. After trying to activate his Twitter followers to extort him, he’s now suffering from withdrawal symptoms.
Trigger warning: Clix is an 18-year-old who has few inhibitions and is not exactly known for his tasteful demeanor. In the article we consider a clip in which he suggests methods of suicide. Apparently he means the 15-second video in a funny way. We do not embed the video, but link it. The video could be disturbing.
Fortnite bans Clix for 2 weeks for “teaming”
What was Clix banned for?
- Clix picked up a powerful item that an opponent dropped for him in an online esports tournament for money. The item allowed him to win the tournament. This is “teaming” – an “unlawful advantage” in the “free for all” format. Epic then banned him from Fortnite for 2 weeks.
- This is a blow for Clix, he misses important tournaments as a result. He insists the ban isn’t his fault alone. The opponent who gave him the item hates him, ambushed him, provoked him and lured him into this spell. Clix thinks the 2-week ban is exaggerated.
- Clix tried to motivate his sizable community via Twitter (2.1 million followers) to get Epic Games to unban Fortnite. But Epic Games stood firm, even after a call, Clix couldn’t do anything.

Clix suffers, prays, threatens suicide “smiling”.
This is what Clix says now: Since the ban, you can see a kind of show on Twitter that you could call the “suffering Clix”:
- So he posted a sad photo in which he wears a t-shirt that shows himself behind bars
- There’s a 15-second video in which he hints at committing suicide by jumping off a balcony, smilingly suggesting swallowing laundry tabs, or throwing a toaster in the tub (via twitter)
- But he also tried to be nice and thanked his community. Explained that “the last few days have had a major impact on his mental health”. Clix said he wasn’t sure how to proceed. He only wants to compete in e-sports. The 18-year-old thanks his community and asks them to continue to support him:

This was the latest: After suicide pranks, Clix posted another tweet on April 30 (via twitter):
I’ve been without Fortnite for a week. I can’t walk without shaking. I feel like I’m going through withdrawal. I can no longer be without Fortnite. I can hardly breathe. I don’t know how much longer I can go without Fortnite.
He will probably have to hold out for another week until the ban expires. Hope he survives cold turkey.
