The most anticipated event of March is the release of an improved creative mode, dubbed “Creative 2.0”. Players will be able to create their own worlds inside Fortnite thanks to the Unreal Editor. Right now, Creative maps are built on simple scripts and with limited resources, but in the updated system, players will have an editor for terrain, objects, and more.

Creative mode in fortnite allows players to express themselves, sometimes creating simply unrealistic islands. Some are designed purely for aesthetic enjoyment, while others help players earn experience or just have fun with friends. Now imagine the almost limitless potential of Unreal Editor. The scripting language will be Verse. With it, you can control almost everything in the game, from creating items, models, and even NPCs. And it will also be possible to control the behavior of characters in the game. So, for example, you can organize a whole theater, a lecture or a virtual zoo.

Dataminer InTheShadeYT has shared some Verse functionality that will make Creative 2.0 an unreal space for creativity. In Unreal Editor you will find:

  • Create your own models and items
  • Full storm control
  • AI scripts
  • Event scripts that give you full control over what happens
  • HUD controls
  • Full construction control
  • Adding and controlling NPCs
  • RNG (random number generator) system
  • Player Inventory Control
  • Control of sound, light, physics, gravity, etc.

Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) will be available on March 22, 2023. Already now you can add the tool to the wish list in EGS. The main difference from the current creative mode is the exclusivity for PC players. Also, unlike Creative, where you edit the islands by controlling a character inside the game, Creative 2.0 is a kind of “god mode” with which you will feel like a real developer.
