International Olympic Committee reported about adding Fortnite to the roster of games, becoming part of the Olympic Esports Series 2023 (Olympic Esports Series 2023), complementing Gran Turismo, Just Dance, Zwift cycling and online chess. Shooting, baseball, taekwondo, tennis and sailing will also be broadcast to add variety to the gameplay and blur the lines between sports.
The Olympic Esports Series 2023 is a global virtual and simulation sports competition created by the IOC in collaboration with international federations and game publishers. The best players will take part in the head-to-head final in Singapore on June 22-25. The Fortnite Player of the Year battle will take place on Fortnite Creative Island on June 24th.
