The world’s most famous battle royale, Fortnite, will return to iOS systems in 2023, at least according to Tim Sweeney on his New Year’s Eve tweet.

Sweeney’s message is very succinct but obscure as it simply says “Next year on iOS”. So can we take this as confirmation of the return of the game to the App Store? In principle, this is a good sign, since we are still talking about the CEO of Epic Games, but the lack of details and official information still leaves room for doubt.

Fortnite was removed from the App Store after Apple accused Epic Games of violating its terms of service. Overall, the Cupertino company’s move was in retaliation for a lawsuit filed against it by Unreal Engine, which accuses it of monopolizing the iOS app market.

Has the situation been resolved now? Perhaps, given that some time has passed and that it is usually not very convenient for such large companies to sulk, as it hurts business.
