The appearance of Resident Evil 2 and 4 hero Leon S. Kennedy in Fortnite should be cause for celebration, but fans were stunned last night when the series’ perfectly groomed protagonist showed up scantily clad.
No, he’s not topless – although there’s already a Resident Evil 4 remake mod for that. Instead, Fortnite’s Leon has lost his iconic jacket, or indeed any other style option.
Fans have complained that this is a missed opportunity for the Fortnite version of Leon, and have compared his character model to those of Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, who are already available in Fortnite in various outfits.
Leon’s accessories include a knife as a pickaxe, which is fair enough, and a briefcase as a back decoration, which looks a bit odd.
Claire Redfield is also now purchasable in Fortnite wearing her Resident Evil 2 costume. Again, there are no additional styling options for her.
