What’s happening in Fortnite today? In Fortnite, Epic Games has shut down the servers for Update 24.00. All players are now eagerly awaiting the new content and can’t wait to take a spin in Season 2 Mega. However, so that you know what new content Epic Games is planning, we have listed the official patch notes for you.

When can I play Fortnite again?

When and how long does the downtime last? This is not known yet. Since the downtime, many players have been wondering when the servers will be active again. Leakers assume a downtime of up to 5 hours.

New vehicles

Epic Games will give you new vehicles at the start of Season 2, including:

  • The Rogue bike
  • There Nitro-Drifter

Both vehicles are new and come with a lot of speed, good maneuverability and a dash of nitro. They are fast and perfect for chases.

Noticed: The all-terrain motorcycle, motorboat, vehicle mod “Chonker’s Off-Road Tires” and vehicle mod “Cowcatcher” are coming to the Vault in Battle Royale V.24.00.

New Weapons

Kinetic Blade

This katana is deadly and fast. You can push enemies away with Knocking Blow and perform a Dash Attack that deals heavy damage. However, this attack only has three charges, which must be recharged as they are used up.

This is a light, accurate, quiet and above all deadly assault rifle. However, a mythical variant of this only exists after you have defeated the boss “Highcard”.

Weapons from the vault return

However, old weapons will also be brought back into the loot table. You can count on the following weapons:

  • Heavy sniper rifle
  • Cobra-DMR
  • Dragon’s Breath Sniper Rifle
  • combat shotgun
  • All looted exotic weapons

The following weapons remain from Season 1 to Season 2:

  • Expert Automatic Shotgun
  • Red Dot Assault Rifle
  • Double magazine submachine gun
  • Tactical Pistol
  • drinking cannon

Old item becomes powerful

Slurp Juice has been made more powerful and when consumed now causes your life and shields to generate a lot of points at the same time. More points than before Season 2. You can find the Slurp Juice in safes locked with keycards, locations with rifts, or battle supplies.

New reality expansions in Season 2

Season 2 not only delivers new weapons and skins, but also new reality expansions. You can look forward to the following:

  • containers
    • Leaving a hideout spawns nearby loot. Can occur once per hideout.
  • treasure hunter
    • Nearby chests will be marked when you enter a location for the first time.
  • thrust juice flood
    • You can find Boost Juice in every treasure chest you open. And if there’s already Boost Juice in the chest, you’ll get another one.
  • ammo chute
    • Gain medium ammo while sliding.
  • More medium ammo
    • Weapons that consume medium ammo get an enlarged magazine.
  • Shotgun Recycling
    • Weapons that use shotgun ammo have a chance to not consume ammo.
  • Honorable conclusion
    • Eliminations refresh the cooldown on the Kinetic Blade’s dash attack.

Old reality expansions will also be carried over from Season 1 to Season 2. You can count on the following:

  • Light fingers
  • Sharp shooter
  • Luftic
  • drunk shooter
  • jellyfish angler
  • Bluthund
  • Shadowdoers
  • More parkour
  • key master

“Mega” offers new slides

In Fortnite there are new grindrails in the mega city that you can slide on. So you can quickly and easily explore the area and move around. Your weapons can also be used on the grindrails if you are talented enough.

COMPETITION NOTES

Epic is removing the following content from Competitive modes:

  • Heavy sniper rifle
  • Loot exotic items
  • drinking cannon
  • Sharpshooter Reality Expansion
  • Booze Gunner Reality Expansion

Additionally, both new vehicles will not be available for use in competitions. Depending on the performance in the normal modes, however, they could be activated.

CHANGES IN LEGACY OPERATING SYSTEM SUPPORT

For Chapter 4 Season 2 you are forced to upgrade your Windows operating system to 10 or higher, otherwise you can no longer play Fortnite. Windows 7 or 8 are no longer supported.
