Maps for Hide and Seek in Fortnite: island codes and custom maps, how to create your own

Since the advent of Battle Royale Fortnite, Epic Games developers have been introducing various innovations in the context of gameplay. So, some time ago, they created a creative Hide and Seek mode in Fortnite, intriguing users with fresh features of the game’s storyline.

Hide and Seek creative mode description

In addition to the fact that Epic Games created an original mechanic in the popular browser shooter Fortnite, bringing elements of project construction into the game, the developers opened up the opportunity for players to be the creators of a 3D space. One of these is the Hide and Seek creative mode.

In the Prop & Hunt storyline (“Hide and Seek”), players are divided into 2 teams: these are hunters and props.

The latter will have to turn into different objects on the map, and the hunters will have to look for disguised opponents. Mini-game users can also invent and implement their own scenarios on the island of their choice.

Who is the developer

Epic Games is famous for its love of collaborations with creative people. It can be a famous musician or a team of creative professionals working in the gaming industry. In the case of Hide and Seek, the developers of the shooter teamed up with the American design studio Stray Kite Studios (“Stray Kite”), which has been specializing in the creation of game content for a long time.

The Stray Serpent team consists of 15 talented specialists. Two of them are the founders of the studio. These are CTO Shovaen Patel (CEO, Technical Director, Co-Founder) and Creative Director Paul Hellquist (Chief Creative Officer, Co-Founder). The main artist of the company is Paul Slusser (Art Director). The creative background of the designers includes work on such large-scale projects as Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Halo Wars, Orcs Must Die and Hero Academy.

Years of experience in the gaming industry allowed Stray Kite Studios to create a relevant Prop&Hunt minigame for the Fortnite battle royale empire, which was presented and launched in 2019.

Team Goals

Participants of the mini-game “Hide and Seek” are invited to split into 2 teams: seekers and disguised. Props hunted by hunters turn into any items located on the territory of the map. It could be a rose bush, a small chip in a pile of logs, a plastic Coke cup, a tool box, or any other object.

The task of the hunters is to find all the disguised players within the round and destroy them. If they fail to find props in time, the match is lost. The goal of each team is the final victory over the opponent. In total, 15 people participate in the game.

List of tests in Hide and Seek

Fortnite Battle Royale Week 6 Season 1 Chapter 2 is the Hunter and Prey challenge, which rewards players with XP rewards.

1. Land in locations scattered across different points of the map. These are “Fatal Farm”, “Nectar Basin” and “Careless Shore”. You can visit them for several matches.
2. Using the skills of the miner, find the required amount of resources: 500 units. wood, 400 units. stone and 300 units. metal for 1 match. Team brawl mode and resource locations will help you complete the task.
3. Destroy 3 enemies in one of the given locations: “Sleepless Shore”, “Fatal Farm” during the 1st match.
4. 7 chests with drops are in Pleasant Park and Lonely Lake. Search them in one of the named locations.
5. Find and eat the collected items: mushrooms, apples and coconuts. Mushrooms are found in the “Nectar Basin” and “Roaring Grove”. They will increase defense by 5-10 units. Coconuts can be found on “Easy Beach”. Eating them will restore your health and defense by 5. In the Orchard, you need to eat apples that restore health by 5 units. The task will be counted when you use 10 collected items in this way.
6. Deal 100 damage to an enemy during the 1st match. pickaxe damage. The task is completed in both team brawl and classic mode.
7. While collecting resources, find weak spots on objects and hit them 5 times in a row. Suitable items for this quest: large trees, walls of buildings, various cars and a lighthouse. And the weak points on them are presented in the form of blue targets.
8. In Team Brawl, land 10 headshots on an enemy. To complete this task, use a shotgun, sniper rifle, machine gun or pistol.
9. Visit 5 points of interest in 1 match by using a helicopter or by selecting nearby zones on the Fortnite map. There are 52 attractions in total in Fortnite.
10. Destroy 1 enemy in 5 matches. After you manage to do this, the task will be completed.
11. In the final task of the Hunter and Prey challenges, you will have to find the letter I by using the hint on the Hide and Seek loading screen. Judging by the picture, the action takes place in a three-story house located on the Fatal Farm. There is also a letter.

What rewards can you get

After completing 8 out of 10 objectives in the Hunter and Prey challenges, players will receive 52,000 XP for each completed objective and Hide and Seek loading screen.

Custom Card Codes

With patch 7.01, Fortnite Creative introduced a new feature – Fortnite Island codes. It was designed for gamers who want to create their own mini-games and share them with other players.

To start one of these custom games, download Fortnite Creative, go to the Creative Hub and find one of the standard portals marking the entrance to a dedicated island.

Then press the E key and enter the 12-digit number that appears on the screen in a special field. After a while, a brief description of the selected island will load. The next step is to confirm your choice and wait for the gameplay to load.

Create your own map in creative mode

Thanks to the developers, you can create your own version of Hide and Seek with the help of special features and devices. To do this, load the skin into the game and select the Fortnite Creative mode from the toolbar. After going to the lobby, create a server and open access to it for teammates, who can later join the gameplay.

The next step is to choose the island that you will get to through the rift. After selecting the desired zone, Map Island will load, where you can set the rules of the game, make buildings, add and remove items, designing the space as you see fit. You will see the main functions and buttons for designing a play area on the toolbar. For example:
